INTENSIVE CARE UNIT
GROUND FLOOR
The Human Pharmacology Unit (HPU) has a state-of-the-art, fully operational Intensive Care Unit with 8 ICU beds (6 ICU beds on the ground floor and 2 on the third floor). The well-equipped ICU has telemetry, defibrillator, ECG, infusion pumps, glucose analyzer, and pulse oximeter and is manned by ACLS-certified physicians who provide the highest quality of medical care. Emergency drugs are systematically reviewed by designated senior nursing personnel and the pharmacist. The ICU is outfitted with two fully stocked emergency crash carts and an ambulance to help handle emergencies at a tertiary centre about 4 km from the HPU.
